Honor Points
The Honor System is a game mechanic designed to track a player's behavior and performance through a numerical honor score. This score determines a player’s rank, affects in-game luck, and influences honor adjustments during gameplay events such as kills and deaths. Below is an explanation of how the system is implemented and how it affects gameplay.
Honor Points and Ranks
The system categorizes players into one of nine distinct ranks based on their honor points. Each rank is defined by:
Threshold: The minimum honor points required to achieve the rank.
Rank Name: A title that reflects the player’s behavior and standing.
Luck Modifier: A numerical value that affects the player’s luck in the game; lower ranks have negative luck, while higher ranks have positive luck.
Penalty (for some ranks): A fixed honor deduction applied under certain conditions (for example, when committing an unjustified kill).

Valiant
The Neutral rank (at 16,000 honor points) serves as an important benchmark. Ranks below Neutral typically represent negative behavior with adverse luck, while ranks at or above Neutral start to introduce honor penalties and gradually improve luck.
Honor Accumulation
Honor points are not static. The system periodically updates a player’s honor through a "tick" process:
Each player has a timer that increments at a set interval.
When the timer reaches or exceeds six minutes, the player is awarded 3 honor points.
This mechanism ensures that honor slowly accumulates over time as long as the player is active, providing a natural progression through the ranks.
Honor Adjustments
When a player dies, the Honor System processes several adjustments:
Guild War Exception:
If both the victim and the killer are members of guilds that are at war with each other, no honor adjustments are made. This prevents interference with guild war mechanics.
Death Recovery:
If a player’s honor is below or equal to the Neutral threshold (16,000 points), they receive a bonus honor upon death. The bonus is calculated as the difference between 16,000 and their current honor, up to a maximum of 400 points. This mechanic helps players recover their honor if they are at a disadvantage.
Killer’s Honor Adjustment:
Unjustified Kills:
If a kill is flagged as unjustified (i.e., lacking a valid reason), the system checks the victim’s rank.
For players in ranks with a defined penalty (Neutral and above), the killer receives a fixed honor deduction (the penalty value).
For victims below Neutral (who lack a penalty), if the victim is of a sufficient level (level 20 or higher), the killer is instead awarded honor points.
Justified Kills:
When a kill is deemed justified, and the victim is below the Neutral rank (no penalty field) and of a high enough level (level 20 or higher), the killer is rewarded with honor points, similar to the bonus for unjustified kills on low-honor players.
Antibot System:
Honor points are deducted from a player when the player fails to answer the Antibot Captcha.
This dual approach ensures that players are discouraged from making unjustified kills, especially against those with higher honor, while still rewarding players for eliminating opponents with lower honor under justified circumstances.
